Ernest Joe Novy April 13, 1928 - September 30, 2007 U.S. Veteran Mr. Ernest Joe Novy, 79, passed away September 30, 2007, at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas. He was born April 13, 1928 in Ennis to parents Joe and Victoria Nekuza Novy. He attended Ennis High School and graduated in 1945. He also attended Navarro College. On September 14, 1948 he married Rose Marie Kulhanek and they made their home in Ennis. Ernest worked 25 years for Ennis Business Forms as an accountant; he was owner of Novy Exxon for 17 years; and H & H True Value Hardware & Gifts for 10 years. As well as being a successful business man over the years, Ernest also sold Christmas trees, operated a fireworks stand, and owned and operated Novy's Golfland, a Miniature Golf Course. As a child he worked at the family owned Novy's Grocery Store on Main St. He was a member of St. John Catholic Church; The Knights of Columbus; KJT; SPJST; and Golden Crusaders. Ernest was a very loving husband, father and grandfather and is survived by his wife Rose Marie Novy of Ennis; two daughters Debbie & her husband Danny McQuary of Plano; and Clarissa and her husband Dennis Lewis of Rockwall; four grandchildren, Tiffany Lewis Amerson; Brett Lewis; Elise Lewis, and Dustin McQuary. Pall Bearers: Dustin McQuary, Brett Lewis, Tiffany Amerson, Ryan Amerson, Randy Lewis, Edwin Mikula, Honorary Pall Bearers: Bo Bohuslav and Bill Jurcik Mass of the Christian Burial will be at St. John Church on Wednesday October 3, 2007 at 10AM, with Rosary being recited at Keever's Chapel Tuesday at 7pm.
