Bio

Mrs. Victoria A. Novy, 96, died Sunday, May 21, 2006, in Dallas. She was born Dec. 27, 1909 in Ennis, the daughter of John W. and Mary Haskovec Nekuza. She was reared in Ennis where she attended school. On June 28, 1927 she was married to Joe J. Novy. After their marriage they lived in Ennis where they owned the Novy Grocery for 37 years. She also baked cakes for weddings and birthdays for many years. Mr. Novy preceded her in death on May 9, 1963. She was a member of the St. John Catholic Church, the KJZT, Golden Crusaders and the Golden Circle. She is survived by a son and his wife, Ernest J. and Rose Marie Novy of Ennis; 2 granddaughters and their husbands, Debbie and Danny McQuary of Plano, Clarissa and Dennis Lewis of Rockwall; and 4 great grandchildren, Dustin McQuary, Tiffany, Brett and Elise Lewis. She was preceded in death by a son, Jodie V. Novy. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Keever Chapel. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday in the St. John Catholic Church with Rev. Edison Vela as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Josephs Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary. J.E. Keever Mortuary
