Crossville Chronicle June 28, 1951 Funeral services for Joe Enos Davis were held at the family home at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 20 with burial in New Era cemetery. He was born May 4, 1880 and died June 19 at the age of 71. On February 13, 1908 he was married to Ellis Davis; they had 10 children: Claude, Kermit, Calvin, Mrs J B Koger, Albany, Ky; Mrs L U Frady, Dayton, Oh; Mrs J R Reed and Mrs Alfred Ledbetter, Harriman; Miss Nettie L Davis, attending Tennessee Tech. All survive to mourn his passing. Besides his wife and children, 3 brothers; J L, Turner, Kansas; Floyd and Walter, Crossville; 2 sisters, Mrs J D Brewer, Crossville, Mrs Perry VanWinkle, Pleasant Hill, also survive.
