Was the son of Andrew Love Hudiburgh and Mary Melton Cole. His father died when he was 8 years old and his mother died the next year. He went to live with the Dubose family until he finished school. He married 1st Annie Ivy in about 1884 and he made his living farming and raising cattle in Homer and Huntington. He and Annie would have five children. She died between 1896-1898. We do not have a definite death date or burial for her. He married 2nd Amandaline Collins Ivy on 30 Nov 1898 in Angelina County. They had two sons: Collins and Joshua. They moved to Jasper, Texas in 1927, where he was the deputy to the sheriff until he was appointed Justice of the Peace. He remained a Justice of the Peace most of his life and on his death certificate it stated he was a peace officer and widow upon his death.
