Bio

Lydia E. Pharis, 89, of Homosassa, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012 at Sunflower Springs Assisted Living in Homosassa. A native of Ord, Nebraska, she was born Feb. 21, 1922 to Charles and Mary (Rovenska) Blaha and moved here with her husband of over 68 years, Robert, in 1980 from Troy, Michigan. Lydia was a charter parishioner of St. Thomas The Apostle Catholic Church in Homosassa and was a lifelong homemaker. In addition to her husband Robert, she is also survived by son Daniel (Tammy) Pharis of Harrison Township, MI; son James (Robin) Pharis of Jackson, TN; daughter Diane (Paul) Singer of Port Washington, WI; sister Norma Swanek of Ord, NE; grandchildren Lynne, Bill, Christopher, Rebecca, Benjamin and Rachel and great grandchildren Nicholas, Abigail and Ethan. Mrs. Pharis was preceded in death by two daughters-in-law; Sandy (12/01/1984) and Carol (02/09/2002). Friends will be received at Wilder Funeral Home, Homosassa Springs, FL on Sat., Feb. 11th from 1:00 to 1:30 P.M. followed by a chapel service at 1:30 P.M. with Deacon Eric Makoid officiating.
