THE ABILENE REPORTER NEWS TUESDAY, APRIL 20, 1971 COLORADO CITY ~~ Walter M. Turner, 90, died at 9:25 a.m. Monday. The body will lie in state at Kiker and Son Funeral Home from 8:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Tuesday and then will be transferred to Dallas. Mr. Turner was born December 12, 1880 in Georgia. He married Miss. Viola Isbell December 24, 1908 in Gorman. They came to Mitchell County in 1924. She passed away in April 1959. Mr. Turner was a retired farmer. He is survived by six sons, Herman of Sweetwater, Dewey and Travis of Colorado City, John of Big Spring and Walter of Houston; four daughters, Mrs. George Boley of Sweetwater, Mrs. Bobby Vaught of Big Spring, Mrs. Bill Turley of Odessa and Mrs. Ralph Phillips of Odessa; four brothers; two sisters; 28 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
