Bio
Ted Don Lane, age 77, died Wednesday, February 08, 2012 in Childress. Services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, February 11, 2012 in Childress Church of Christ with Dr. Mike Henderson officiating . Burial will be in Childress Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Johnson Funeral Home on Friday, February 10, 2012 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Ted was born December 30, 1934 in Childress to Weldon and Bernice Rankin Lane. He married former Joy Holman July 11, 1954 in Childress. He supported his family for many years in transportation with Red Ball, East Texas and Merchants freight Lines. Being a 32 degree Master Mason with the Masonic Lodge in Amarillo, he was a man of dedication and integrity. Those who knew him will miss his wisdom, perserverance, sense of humor and giving spirit. He was a very proud papaw to eight grandchildren and one great-grandson. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Claude, Jerry Joe and son, Richard. Memorials may be made to CRMC Hospice, PO Box 1030, Childress, TX 79201 Survivors: Wife - Joy Lane Son - Phillip Lane of New Orleans, La. Son - Larry Lane and wife, Donna of Gilmer, Son - Brett Lane of Weatherford, daughter- Gina Aaland and husband, Gordon of South Lake, Texas.
