Bio

Jerry W. Lane, born April 9, 1941 in Childress, TX, passed away suddenly on December 9, 2006 in Cedar Hill, TX. A 1959 graduate of Childress High School, he graduated from West Texas State University in 1964 and received his Masters degree from North Texas in 1970. He was employed by Paragon Furniture Inc. of Arlington, Texas and his career included employment at Southwestern Public Service Co, Glidden Paint, Buddy Schoelkolph Products, Dallas Manufacturing, and Brinkman Corp. A Vietnam veteran, Jerry served in the U.S. army from 1964 to 1967. He was preceded in death by his parents, Weldon C. Lane and Bernice B. Lane of Childress and brothers Claude Lane of Childress and Joe Lane of Lakewood, CO. He is survived by his son, Chris Lane and wife, Tracy; brothers, Ted Lane, Dan Lane and David Lane; as well as numerous nephews and nieces. A memorial service celebrating Jerry's life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 13, 2006 at David Clayton & Sons Chapel. Interment will be 2:30 p.m. at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery Lane "A" . Visitation Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
