Bio

Josephine Shehan, 84, of Canyon, died Sunday, Sept. 14, 1997. A vigil service and rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. today in Brooks Funeral Directors Chapel with Jerry Grossman and Gabe Rivas, deacons, officiating. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Ann's Catholic Church with the Rev. Phu Phan and August Hesse, deacon, officiating. Graveside services will be at 5 p.m. Wednesday in Yukon Cemetery at Yukon, Okla., with Hi Roberts, deacon, officiating. Mrs. Shehan was born in Yukon. She married Samuel J. Shehan in 1931. He died in 1978. She also was preceded in death by a daughter. She lived in Yukon until 1995, when she moved to Canyon. Mrs. Shehan was of the Catholic faith and was an active member of St. John Nepomuk Church in Yukon for 60 years. She was a homemaker and a farmer. She was a member of the Home Demonstration Club and served on the election board in Canadian County, Okla. Survivors include a son, Patrick Shehan of Canyon; two sisters, Lilibel Lucy of Tulsa, Okla., and Grace Hubbard of Oklahoma City; four grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to the St. Ann's Catholic Church building fund, 38th St. and Conner Drive, Canyon, Texas 79015; or a favorite charity.
