Hazleton Standard-Sentinel; Thursday, November 1, 1922: John Huey, aged 75 years, died yesterday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Nicholas Reichert, 226 East Green street, West Hazleton. Death was due to complications and followed an illness of seven months. He was well known in this region where he had lived his entire lifetime. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran church, this city; Camp 90, P.O.S. of A., and Council No. 258 of the O. of I.A. He was a blacksmith by trade and had been employed at Beaver Brook and Crystal Ridge. His wife preceded him in death nine years ago. The following children survive: Mrs. Nicholas Reichert, with whom he made his home; Mrs. Sarah Schuler and Mrs. George Brandau, of this city; Mrs. Ella Kreidler, of Allentown; Mrs. August Lorcheim, William H., John E., and A. Edward, of Elizabeth, N.J. A sister, Mrs. John Arn, of Quakertown, and 22 grandchildren also survive. The funeral will be held at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon from the home of his daughter, with interment in the Vine street cemetery. - PA Death Certificate: son of John Huey, born in PA, and Mary Leonard, born in Virginia. He was a blacksmith in the coal mines. - - son John Edward Huey, born April 22, 1878 in Cranberry, Luzerne county, PA; died April 24, 1954 in Elizabeth, N.J. Burial was in Elizabeth, exact cemetery unknown.
