Services for Mr. Jessie "Sonny Man" Poole, 92, Fruitvale, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Monday, Feb. 6, 2012, at Bartley Funeral Home, Grand Saline, with Bro. Carl Waddell officiating. Interment will be in Shady Grove Cemetery, 10331 Farm-to-Market Road 1795, Big Sandy, Upshur County. Mr. Poole died Feb. 3, 2012, in The Colony. He was born Dec. 28, 1919, in Hawkins to the late William Lonnie and Chara Pilcher Poole. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He spent most all of his life in the East Texas area where he worked as a truck driver and was a member of Lawrence Springs Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice Elizabeth Poole; four brothers, Myers Poole, Richard Poole, Billy Poole and Paul Poole; and sister, Lurita Davis. Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Mildred Poole, Mineola, and David and Danette Poole, The Colony; daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Robert Field, Haslet; sister, Catherine Belcher, Mesquite; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. The family will receive friends two hours prior to services on Monday at the funeral home. Published in Tyler Morning Telegraph on February 4, 2012
