Flowers Elvin A. Flowers Sr., 92, a native and lifelong resident of Robertsdale, died Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012. Mr. Flowers was a WWII Veteran serving in the U.S. Army. Mr. Flowers worked at Brookley Field in Mobile and retired from the Naval Air Station in Pensacola, Fla. He coached Little League Baseball for over 20 years, was an avid hunter and enjoyed gulf fishing. He has been gardening since he was 5 years old. He is survived by wife of 66 years, Maryed Taylor Flowers, Robertsdale; three sons, Eddie Flowers and Ross (Kay) Flowers, both of Robertsdale, and Harley (Allison) Flowers of Mobile; two sisters, Vera A. Bonner of Robertsdale, and Joyce Chamberlin of Magnolia Springs; brother, R.A. Flowers of Robertsdale; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services were Thursday at Mack Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Baldwin Memorial Cemetery, Robertsdale. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38105. Arrangements by Mack Funeral Home, Robertsdale.
