Richard T. Urbanovsky, 65, of West, passed away Friday, Jan. 27, 2012. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, with the Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. A rosary will be recited 6 p.m. Tuesday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel, with visitation to follow until 8 p.m. Richard was born in Waco, Texas, to the late Joseph T. and Elizabeth Anna (Gajdica) Urbanovsky. He graduated from West High School in 1965 and from Baylor University in Waco with a Bachelor of Business degree. On Aug. 3, 1968, he was united in marriage to Anna Marie Urban in Bellmead. Richard worked as a claims manager for Texas Farm Bureau in Waco for 34 years until his retirement in 2004. Prior to that, he worked for American Income Life in Waco and Two J's in Austin while a student at the University of Texas. Richard and Anna were foster parents for Marywood in Austin for a few years. He loved deer hunting, fishing, attending Westfest, supporting the Olympics, dancing, and camping at Lake Whitney. Richard was a faithful member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. He was also a member of the K.J.T. Society No. 31 and Knights of Columbus Council No. 2305. Survivors include his beloved wife of 43 years, Anna, of West; son, Mark Urbanovsky and wife, Kristine, of Johnson City; daughter, Denise Urbanovsky Pruski and husband, Charles, of Wimberley; grandchildren, Alexis, Levi, Westin and Cassandra; brother, Larry Urbanovsky and wife, Christi; sisters, Carolyn Gerik and husband, Tom, Rita Cox, and Sara Gerik and husband, Tommy "Tye"; brother-in-law, Anthony Urban and wife, Mary; sister-in-law, Catherine Devorsky and husband, Bobby; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
