Joe Johnny Halamik, 79, of Tours, passed away late Tuesday afternoon, January 24, 2012, at his residence. A rosary will be recited 6:30 p.m. Friday at the Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel, with visitation to follow until 8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours, with Msgr. Isidore Rozycki and Rev. Will Straten as celebrants. Burial will follow at St. Martin's Cemetery. Joe Johnny was born in West, Texas, to the late Joe J. and Lillian Ann (Cocek) Halamik. He attended Tours schools. On September 25, 1951, he was united in marriage to Patsy Ann Straten in Tours. Joe was a retired warehouse supervisor for Owens-Illinois Glass Plant in Waco for over 37 years. He also sold homeowners insurance and was on the board of directors of R.V.O.S. Lodge No 106. Joe was a lifelong and faithful member of St. Martin's Catholic Church of Tours, where he served on the Parish Council. He enjoyed listening to Czech music, mowing, traveling in their RV, going to the lake, playing bingo, and going to shows at the Oklahoma casinos. He especially loved spending time with his family and was very involved in family reunions. Joe is preceded in death by his brother, Manuel Louis Halamik; and a sister, Molly Jane Straten. Survivors include his beloved wife of 60 years, Patsy Halamik, of Tours; sons, Mark Halamik and wife, Linda, of Elm Mott, Keith Halamik, of Miami, AZ, Joseph Halamik, and Patrick Halamik and wife, Vonceen, all of West; daughters, Vivian Tekell and husband, Lynn, of West and Elaine Rog and husband, Slawomir, of Bluntsville, TN; grandchildren, Mark Allan Halamik, Brent Halamik and fiancée, Lauren, Erik Halamik and friend, Christi, Jon Halamik, Cory Tekell and wife, Nicole, Brittney Duffy and husband, Mike, Mallory Tekell and friend, Cody, Madison Halamik, Camryn Halamik, Nathaniel Halamik and Blake Halamik; great-grandchildren, Laura Blakeslee and Londyn Hunke; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
