Bio

Mark A. Halamik, age 60, of Elm Mott, passed away early Wednesday morning, October 30, 2013 at Hillcrest Hospital in Waco. A rosary will be recited and Mass of Christian Burial celebrated 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 2, 2013 at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours, with Rev. Michael Ajewole as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Martin's Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Aderhold Funeral Home in West. Mark was born November 18, 1952 in Waco, the son of Joe Johnny and Patsy Ann (Straten) Halamik. He attended schools in Tours and was a 1971 graduate of West High School. He attended Texas State Technical Institution with a degree in Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning. On September 20, 1975, he was united in marriage to Linda Ann Cepak in Bellmead. He was an electrician and owned Mark's Electric for 10 years. He also worked for Sanderson Farms for several years until his retirement in 2010. He enjoyed BBQ's, frying chicken at the church picnic's, riding his motorcycle, and fishing. Mark especially loved spending time with his family. He was a member of St. Martin Catholic Church of Tours. Mark is preceded in death by his father and a brother, Keith Joseph Halamik . Survivors include his beloved wife of 38 years, Linda Halamik of Elm Mott; his mother, Patsy Halamik of Tours; sons, Mark Allan Halamik of Woodway, Brent Halamik and wife Lauren, and Jon Halamik, all of Waco, and Erik Halamik and Christy of Bryan; brothers, Joseph Halamik and Patrick Halamik and wife Vonceen; sisters, Vivian Tekell and husband Lynn and Elaine Rog and husband Slawomir; two grandchildren, Elliot and Lillian Traywick; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are his sons, Mark Allan, Brent, Jon and Erik. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Martin Catholic Church of Tours.
