(Kitty) Strickler, 85, Lakecrest Drive, Colonial Heights Community, died at 11:10 a.m. Sunday at Holston Valley Community Hospital after being ill health for several years. He was a life long resident of Sullivan County and a retired farmer. He was a member of Colonial Heights United Methodist Church where he was very active in church work before his illness. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lassie Burnett Strickler of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Cleo Birdwell and Mrs. Clyde (Hazel) Isenberg both of Kingsport; two sons, Guy W. Strickler of Jonesboro and Rev. Hubert W. Strickler of Kingsport; three step-sons, George Cookenour of Weber City, Frank Cookenour of Kingsport, Omer Cookenour of Indiana; one half-sister, Mrs. Effie Willis of Kingsport; three half-brothers, Jim Strickler, Earl Strickler, Dewey Strickler all of Kingsport; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild. Hamlett Dobson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
