Hillsboro Reporter Monday, January 19, 2004 AILEENE FREELAND Aileene Freeland, 96, of Hubbard died Wednesday, January 14, 2004, at a Waco hospital. She was born September 5, 1907, in Purdon, daughter of the late William Daniel Hughes and Martha Elizabeth Kennemore Hughes. She married Byron Freeland March 30, 1929, and he preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Mac Hughes, John Will Hughes and Tommy Hughes; and two sisters, Eunice Foster and Lora Ford. Survivors include: one son, Dr. Harold Freeland and wife, Carol, of Keene; one daughter, Betty Ellison of Hubbard; one brother, A. L. Hughes of Speegeville; six sisters, Elva Gladney of Onxard, California, Annie Mae Jones of Tyler, Mildred Walker of Longview, Mary Lou McPherson of Mesquite, Loma Gladney of Speegeville and Zoette Rodgers of Baytown; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, January 16, at Wade Funeral Home Chapel in Hubbard with Rev. James Hooper officiating. Burial was at Fairview Cemetery in Hubbard.
