Bio

Apollonia Podsednik was baptized at St. Martin's Catholic Chourch in Tours, Texas on February 15, 1917, the same day she was born. Her uncle and aunt, August A. and Matilda (Vrba) Podsednik, were her sponsors. Apollonia entered the convent on June 5, 1931, with two of her best friends, Emma Schroeder and Angelene Holzer. She graduated from high school and passed her freshman classes before going into the novitiate, where she received the name Sister Lawrence Marie. On August 2, 1986, Sister Lawrence Marie celebrated her Golden Jubilee as a Sister of Divine Providence. Information provided by Find A Grave contributor A Walston in an email dated March 28, 2014.
