Scovil: Newspaper Obituary and Death Notice Herald & Review (Decatur, IL) - July 11, 1997 Deceased Name: Scovil - 92, of Lovington died 9:05 a.m. Thursday (July 10, 1997) in St. Mary's Hospital, Decatur. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday in First Christian Church, Lovington, with visitation 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in McMullin-Young Funeral Home, Lovington. Burial will be in Keller Cemetery, Lovington. Memorials: First Christian Church, Lovington. Mrs. Scovil was born in Arthur on Jan. 3, 1905, the daughter of Orange Johnson and Georgianna Shirey Behen. She was a member of First Christian Church, Lovington, a Deaconess Emeritus, 50-year member of Order of the Eastern Star 427, Arthur, and a 4-H club leader for 13 years. She married Charles ''Jack'' Scovil in Owensburg, Ky., on May 6, 1938. He preceded her in death on Oct. 24, 1990. Surviving are several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband and several brothers and sisters.
