Bio
The daughter of Jonas S. & Virginia (Eubank) Roth, Jonas was the third of ten children. Halcyon "Halley" was born July 6, 1885 in Comstock, Custer county, Nebraska, the fourth child of seven. Solomon Butcher's picture of the Eubank families Three years after she was born Nebraska, in 1888, suffered one of the worst blizzards in that states history, many children died on the way home from school. Halycon m. Lloyd Bennett (1886-1936) who is buried in Scottsbluff, NE. His obituary, gives the names of their children; from the Scottsbluff Daily Star-Herald. The North Platte Valley's Favorite Daily Paper; Saturday, October 17, 1936 states: He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Halycon Bennett, five daughters and one son. They are Mrs. Charles McGrew, Tulare, Calif., Mrs. Nels Jensen, Alberta, Pauline, Virginia and Leonard Bennett, all of Scottsbluff. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Warren Bennett of Arcadia, Nebr., also survive. Halcyon's family is featured in the COMPENDIUM OF HISTORY, REMINISCENCE AND BIOGRAPHY... ...CITIZENS OF NEBRASKA, 1912, p. 825 -JONAS S. ROTH: of Hally it says: "Halley, wife of Lloyd Bennett, of Dry Valley, has one child" [it being 1912, the child would be Bernice as Leonard b. 1912] When the biography above was written in 1912, Halley had 7 siblings: Clifford Ivan 1875-1938 Richard Edgar 1877-1959 William Bradley 1878-1959 Dora, wife of Pearl Walton, of Graham county, KS, 2 children; (no Memorial Found as of Dec 2011) Mary E, wife of Charles Mattox 1881-1962 Nellie, 1883-1954 wife of Earl Anderson herself-Halley, wife of Lloyd Bennett, of Dry Valley, has one child; Fred, at home.
