Bio

Richard Edgar ROTH was my paternal grandfather and the second son of Jonas Specht & Virginia EUBANK_ROTH. They moved from their farm in Brocton in 1879 in Conestoga wagons, with their 3 sons, Clifford Ivan, Richard Edgar and William Bradley, to Comstock, Custer Co. Nebraska. They lived there for the rest of their lives. They were farmers, from a farming family (Pennsylvania > Ohio > Illinois). Richard married (28 Dec 1897 in Edgar County, Illinois) Minerva Ann "Minnie" DURHAM b. 22 Aug 1877 Moberly, Randolh Co. Missouri - d. 6 Aug 1952 Comstock, Custer Co. Nebraska. She was the daughter of John James & Louisa Maria SMITH_DURHAM. They had 7 children, all b. in Comstock: Ruby Berniece, Mildred LaBertha, Nina Louisa, Levi Marion, Edgar Wayne, Arthur Melvin (my father) and Floyd Eugene.
