Bio
Zita Mary Maly, 68, died Sunday, Dec. 29, 2002, at Immanuel Hospital in Omaha. Funeral services were Thursday, Jan.2 2003, at st. Anthony's Catholic Church, west of West Point. Rev. Mike Grewe officiated. Pallbearers were Kevin Compton, Shawn Compton, Greg Evert, Tony Goeden, Pat Wiengert and Tim Zeng. Zita was born May 3, 1934m at West Point to William and Elizabeth Ortmeier Maly. She attended schools at St. Anthony's Notre Dame Academy, dePaul University at Chicago and the University of Nebraska at Omaha. She taught school and was a housekeeper for Monsignor Stanley Pieczonka in Omaha. She was employed by Omaha Steaks and was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church and Guild. Survivors include her twin sister, Rita and William Goeden of West Point, sisters, Elise and Don Bartek of Colorado Springs, CO, Esther and Tom Compton of Pueblo, CO, Edie and Barry Barlow adn Aggie and Al Evert, both of Las Vegas, NV, brothers Gene and Jenny and Pat and Donna Maly of Lincoln and Vince and Elaine Maly of West Point. She was preceded in death by her father in 1969, mother in 1996 and a nephew Tommy Compton. Stalp Funeral home was in charge of arrangements. West Point News
