Ernestina was one of the older children (before Helena) who was born in Germany-Poland. She made the Atlantic Crossing three times, going west to NY NY on the S/S Saale, then returning a few years later (after Helena) and coming back to the west to NY NY on the Kaiser Wilhelm II in 1905, just before her brother Fred was born. She stayed in the east when her family came west to Nebraska because she was already married to Mr. Gates-Gatz-Gatzke. She is not Augustina Knispel; that is another lady not directly connected to this family.
