Obituary: Louis (Ludwig) Knispel, 65, 2612 Avenue B, died Tuesday evening at a local hospital. Born in Rashkoff, Posen, Germany, he had been a resident of the United States for 57 years and a resident of Kearney for 29 years. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church and the Kearney Lions Club. He was a World War I Veteran. Louis' real name was Ludwig, and his parents, Wilhelm Heinrich (Henry) Knispel, and Wilhelmine (Minnie) preceded him. Surviving are his wife, Dena; one son, Delbert of Kearney; a daughter, Fern of Roseburg, OR; three brothers, Rudolph of Saginaw, Michigan, William of Eddyville, and Ted of Lexington; five sisters, Mrs. Tina Gates and Mrs. Emma Berwaldt, Cleveland, Ohio, Mrs. Helen VonLoh and Mrs. Leona Knaggs, both of Lexington, and Mrs. Martha Neben of Overton; three grandchildren, Peggy, Mike, and Craig Knispel. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m., from the Zion Lutheran Church, with Pastor Max E. Heinz officiating. Burial will be in Kearney Cemetery.
