Graveside services for Richard Oneal Lightfoot, 72, of Lufkin will be held Sunday, September 7, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in the Sims (Rocky Hill) Cemetery with Brother Horace Fletcher officiating. Mr. Lightfoot was born November 9, 1935 in Swift, Texas to the late Ida Mae (Dennis) and Chester B. Lightfoot, and died Thursday, September 4, 2008 in a local hospital. Mr. Lightfoot resided in Lufkin most of his life. He served for a short time in the U.S. Army, and retired from Pilgrim's Pride Corporation following 27 years of employment. He was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Doris Ann Lightfoot of Lufkin; sons and daughter-in-law, Tommy Ray and Audrey Lightfoot and Charles Wayne Lightfoot, all of Etoile; grandchildren, Misti, Matthew and Brandon Lightfoot; brothers and sisters-in-law, Lamar and Rosemary Lightfoot and Leo and Ellen Lightfoot, all of Lufkin; and a number of other relatives and friends.
