Services for M. L. "Leo" Lightfoot, 84, of Lufkin, will be held in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel. Masonic graveside services will follow in the Berry Cemetery under the auspices of the Homer Masonic Lodge #254 A.F. & A.M. Mr. Lightfoot was born Oct. 22, 1930, in Swift and died Tuesday, May 12, 2015, in Lufkin. Carroway Funeral Home, Lufkin, directors. Published in The Lufkin Daily News on May 14, 2015 --------------------------------- Funeral services for M.L. “Leo” Lightfoot, 84, of Lufkin will be held in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Jimmy Dunn and Chaplain Alex Montillo officiating. Masonic graveside services will follow in the Berry Cemetery under the auspices of the Homer Masonic Lodge #254 A.F. & A.M. Mr. Lightfoot was born October 22, 1930 in Swift, Nacogdoches County, Texas, to Chester B. Lightfoot and Ida Mae (Dennis) Lightfoot of Nacogdoches, and died Tuesday, May 12, 2015 in Lufkin. Mr. Lightfoot had resided in Lufkin since 1953. He worked with Lufkin Industries until his retirement in 1991 and also served as Worshipful Master of the Lufkin Masonic Lodge #669 A.F. & A.M. and the Homer Masonic Lodge #254 A.F. & A.M. He loved the outdoors, gardening, farming and working with cattle. He also enjoyed woodworking. Mr. Lightfoot was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Moffett. Survivors include his devoted wife of 63 years, Ellen (Matthews) Lightfoot; son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Diana Lightfoot; daughter, Donna Gail Lightfoot; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Nancy Lightfoot; granddaughters, Katie Lightfoot and Meagan Lightfoot; and great-grandson, Bentley Lightfoot; brother and sister-in-law, Lamar and Rosie Lightfoot; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, J.W. and Nola Reneau; sister-in-law, Sue Matthews; honorary grandson, Fernando Valadez (who managed to keep Leo entertained during his earlier years of retirement); and special canine “grandchildren”, Hank and Jack.
