Bio

"John Spicer, 73, died suddenly at 7 o'clock last night at his home between Huntsville and Higbee. He had been in poor health for a long time, but death, caused by a heart attack, was unexpected. He was the son of Jacob and Polly Spicer. He is survived by his wife; five sons, Ollie Spicer of Higbee, Arthur Spicer of Decatur, Illinois, Russell and John Spicer, both of Huntsville; and Henry Spicer of Moberly; two daughters, Mrs. Goldie Reed of Moberly and Mrs. Alice Campbell of Richmond, Illinois; 31 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; a brother, Lawrence Spicer of Moberly; and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Rose of Garland, Kansas and Mrs. Christine Welcher of Arcadia, Kansas. The body will remain at the Patton Funeral Home and funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock Monday afternoon by the Rev. J.H. Lynn." Moberly Monitor-Index, March 21, 1942
