Arcadia Journal:Crawford, County, KS: 2 September 1938: Mrs. Lilie Hart of Ft. Scott and Mrs. Mabel Warren of Marchfield (sic) MO, have been visiting their mother, Mrs. James Welcher who has been ill for several months. (At this time, Nancy would have been 72 years old.) The Pittsburg Headlight-Sun Tuesday 18, June 1946 microfilm-PSU Axe Library Pittsburg, Kansas Mrs. Nancy Welcher Dies. Arcadia Resident 23 Years to Be buried tomorrow. Scammon, June 16--Mrs. Nancy Christina Welcher, 79, a resident of Arcadia 23 years died at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Mabel Warren, here at 11:30 a.m. Sunday. She had been seriously ill two months. Her home was in Columbus. Mrs. Welcher was born in Moberly Mo., and came to Arcadia in 1921. Two years ago she moved to Columbus. She had been at her daughter's home here for two weeks. Surviving in addition to Mrs. Warren are three other daughters, Mrs. Lily Hart of Pittsburg, Mrs. Nora Jeffries, Columbus, and Mrs. Mae Bowin, Scammon, a brother, Lawrence Spies, Moberly, MO; a sister, Mrs. David Rose, Garland; 23 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10 o'clock Wednesday morning in the Catlett Chapel in Columbus with Rev. Hayes of the Assembly of God Church in Oswego officiating. Interment will be in Hosey Hill cemetery, Weir. The body will be taken to the Warren home Tuesday night from the Chapel and returned shortly before the funeral.
