Unknown Newspaper, unknown date: Mrs. Mary Rose Mrs. Mary Rose, 79, a pioneer resident of Garland, died Saturday at 3:15 a.m. at Hardy, Ark., where she was visiting a daughter, Mrs. Lucy Groves. She had been in failing health for some time. The body was sent to the Cheney Undertaking Co., and funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m., at the Garland Baptist church with the Rev. Dale Crown of the Latter Day Saints church conducting. Burial will be in the Clarksburg cemetery. Mary Spies, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Spies, was born March 15, 1873 at Huntsville, Mo. She was married to David Gilbert Rose at Huntsville on Sept 9, 1891. He died Jan 29, 1950. Surviving are two sons, Tom Rose, Kansas City, Jake Rose, Oskaloosa, Kas; two daughters, Mrs. Lucy Groves, Hardy, Ark., Mrs. Gladys Zeiger, Arcadia; ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Mrs. Rose was a member of the Latter Day Saints church. The body was taken to the home at Garland this afternoon.
