"Dub" Cooper, 77, a retired automobile body repairman, died Tuesday, August 11, 1998, at a Fort Worth hospital. Graveside service: 11:30 a.m. Thursday in Granbury Cemetery in Granbury. W.C. "Dub" Cooper was born January 18, 1921, in Granbury. He served in the Navy during World War II. Mr. Cooper opened the first automobile paint and body shop in Granbury in 1945. He was a member of First Christian Church. He was preceded in death by a son, B.W. Cooper, and two brothers, Weldon Cooper and Wayne Cooper. Survivors: Wife, Irene Cooper of Granbury; daughters, Cheryl Cooper Ogle and Debbie Cooper Hightower, both of Comanche, Cindy Cooper Ganske of Fort Worth, Carole Cooper Smith of Goldthwaite, Gwen Mills of Fort Worth and Joyce Perry of Little Rock, Arkansas; sisters, Bobbie Vining of Brownsville, Jeanne Armstrong of Odessa and Joyce Durham of Mineral Wells; 19 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
