CLELL C. KOLBO Clell C. Kolbo, 79, a resident of Portland, died Sunday evening, July 22, 2007 at the Adventist Medical Center in Portland. Per Clell's request, no services will be held. Private Interment will be held at the Mt. View Memorial Gardens in Forest Grove. CLELL CLEO KOLBO was born March 18, 1928 on a farm between Callaway and Oconto, Nebraska, the son of Tim Kolbo and Nettie (Bridges) Kolbo. He was raised and received his education in the Callaway community, having graduated from Callaway High School in 1945. Clell received his teaching certificate from Kearney State College in 1946and taught in a country school in Nebraska for four years. He was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict, having joined the United States Army on November 28, 1950. Clell served for two years until receiving his Honorable Discharge on November 13, 1952 at the rank of Corporal. Clell was united in marriage to Louise Avanzino McWalters on February 14, 1973 in Reno, Nevada. Following their marriage they made their home in Portland. Clell and Louise celebrated their 34th Wedding Anniversary this past February. For fourteen years, Clell worked as an assistant manager in the variety store business. In 1967, he went to work in food preparation for United Airlines. Clell worked for United Airlines for twenty-one years until he retired in June of 1988. He was baptized and joined the Evangelical Church. He had attended the Faith United Methodist Church in Portland. Among his interests, Clell loved traveling. He was preceded in death by his parents. Clell is survived by his wife, Louise Kolbo, of Portland; a step-daughter, Cindy Riggi of Portland, Oregon; a brother, Nathan Kolbo of Pratt, Kansas; two sisters, Priscilla Stinman of Gresham, Oregon and Margie Geisler of Alma, Kansas; two grandchildren, Christina Buckmaster of Newark, California and Sabina Riggi of Portland, Oregon; three nephews, Charles Stinman and his wife, Helen; Richard Geisler and his wife, Linda; and Bob Geisler; and four nieces, Nancy Champion and her husband, Mark; Gayle Beatty and her husband, Mike; Brenda Gibson and her husband, Tom; and Beverly Long and her husband, Dale. The family suggests that remembrances may be made to one's favorite charity, in his memory.
