Bio

Crash Proves Fatal Injuries suffered in an automobile accident south of Topeka Oct. 24 resulted in the death yesterday in Stormont-Vail hospital. Topeka, of Cecil Grimes Harden, 60, of Old Huron. He was born at Old Huron Sept. 29, 1896, a son of Elihu and Sallie Harden, and in 1930 moved with his parents to Circleville, where he and Miss Maude Brown were united in marriage Nov. 22, 1922. The ceremony took place at the home of the bride's parents. Mr. and Mres. Milton Brown. A year after their marriage they moved to Nunn, Colo., his parents accompanying them, and his mother died there Feb. 22, 1943. In 1946 the Cecil Harden family and his father moved back to Old Huron and he built a new house on a farm across the road from his birthplace on a farm he purchased from Carl Searles of Atchison. His father died there Nov. 20, 1948. A brother, William Harden, passed away at Old Huron Dec. 3, 1912. Surviving are his wife, who was at his bedside at the hospital from the time he was taken there unconscious until his death; three sons. Victor Harden, in the army stationed in New Foundland, and William and Keith Harden of the home; a daughter, Mrs. Roy Lanter (Marjory) Everest, and a brother, Harold, Nunn, Colo. Funeral arrangements are pending. The body is at Stanton mortuary.
