Obituary Gonzales Inquirer July 7, 1991 pg 17 Sarah Geiger services were held Thursday Funeral services for Sarah Geiger, who died on Thursday, were held on Sunday, July 7 at 2 p.m. at the Assembly of God church under the direction of Seydler-Hill Funeral Home. The Rev. Sam Allen and the Rev. Clyde Poldrack officiated, with interment in the City cemetery. Pallbearers were Ben Wallace, Raymond Wallace, Perry Bell, Charles Wayne Sims, Gary Swanner and Miller Nesloney. Mrs. Geiger was born on Aug. 11, 1899 in Iola, to John Ashley and Nancy McWhorter Wallace, natives respectively of Sutherland Springs and Iola. She was married to Louis H. Geiger on July 22, 1922 in Pleasanton and he preceded her in death on May 7, 1937. She was a seamstress and a member of the Assembly of God church and made her home on East Wallace St. She is survived by a son, Jess Geiger of West Monroe, La., two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Claude Wallace of Stockdale; many nieces and nephews, including Vivian Wallace. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, four brothers and two sisters. The family has requested that memorial be made to the Assembly of God church or to a favorite charity.
