Grace I. Gadeken, 99, of Kimball, died at the Kimball County Manor on Monday, November 3, 2014. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at the Cantrell Funeral Home in Kimball with Pastor Carla Gunn officiating. Private family burial will be held on Friday. There will be no visitation. Friends may visit www.cantrellfh.com to view the obituary and leave condolences for the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Calvary United Methodist Church, Trinity United Methodist Church or the Kimball County Manor. The services for Grace have been entrusted to the Cantrell Funeral Home. Grace Isabel Gadeken was born in Nebraska City, Nebraska on March 20, 1915, the daughter of Calvin and Nellie (Lee) Bradt, one of ten children. She attended school in a 1 room school in Weld County, Colorado from 1920 – 1926. She completed her education at Kimball County High School in 1932. She became a household engineer in her mother-in-laws house before her marriage. She was married to Clyde Gadeken on November 15, 1941 on the Bradt family homestead. Grace and her family lived on the Gadeken family farm 5 miles south of Bushnell from 1941-1944. They moved to the farm 1 mile West of Bushnell and lived there from 1945 – 1978. Grace and Clyde moved to Kimball in 1978. She enjoyed many travels during her lifetime, especially to California, Houston, Texas, Alaska and Oregon. She enjoyed sewing. She was also a 50 year member of the Moonbeam Extension Club and was the last surviving member. Survivors include her sons Larry (Joy) Gadeken of Houston, TX., and Clyde (Judy) Gadeken of Gresham, OR; daughters LaVerne Gadeken and husband Mike Cooke of Scottsbluff, NE., and Joyce (Mickey) Solomon of Merna, NE; sister-in-law Grace Drake of Oregon; 3 grandsons and 3 gradndaughters; 3 great grandsons and 3 great granddaughters; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant son Wayne Gadeken, 5 brothers and 4 sisters.
