Bio

Bessie Green, 91, of New Braunfels passed away on Tuesday, November 2, 2011 at Kirkwood Manor in New Braunfels. She was born to Charlie Hosek and Anna (Supak) Hosek in Three Oaks, Texas on July 10, 1920. She married John Green on May 7, 1955 in San Antonio and later moved to New Braunfels. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church New Braunfels and worked for over twenty years at Mission Valley Textile Mill. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by daughter, Sharon Bartels and husband Rodney "Petey; son, John Green and wife Carole; and daughter, Pat Hermes and husband Bill all of New Braunfels; sisters, Mary Pell of Natalia, TX and Adella Krebs of Marion, TX; brothers, Charlie Hosek and Gladys and William Hosek and wife Susie of San Antonio, Edward Hosek and wife Frances of Poth, TX and Eugene Hosek and wife Martha of West, TX; grandchildren, Ainslie and Kenny Poindexter, Jeremy and Jenny Bartels, Kristie and Matthew Mueck, B.J. and Jennifer Hermes, Brittnie and Justin Friesenhahn, Jennifer Bartles and fiancé Jordan Burkemper and Molly Green Ulmann and Rick; great-grandchildren, Rachel, Jace and Kenlie Poindexter; Tyler Mueck, Kaleb Friesenhahn, Ryder Ullmann and Logan Bartels; special niece and nephew, Dickie and John Guthrie; and numerous other nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, John Green, Sr.; brothers, Lee Hosek and Melvin Hosek; sister, Lilly Magel; and grandson, Brent Green. Public Visitation will begin 5:00 PM Thursday at Zoeller Funeral Home and will continue until 9:00 PM. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 AM Friday, November 4, 2011 at Zoeller Funeral Home with Reverend Marvin Koenig officiating. Interment will follow in Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park. Memorial Contributions may be given to Hope Hospice. Zoeller Funeral Home
