'''''''' The Sunday Oregonian (Portland), January 22, 1939, p. 10, col. 5 DEATH SUMMONS PORTLAND WOMAN Daughter of Pioneer Family Succumbs to Illness Mrs. Ewen MacLennan (Laura Ann Jackson) died Friday night at the Good Samaritan hospital after a brief illness. Mrs. MacLennan had been a resident of Oregon for nearly 40 years. She came to the state of Washington when a small child, with her parents, Stephen B. and Mary A. Jackson, who were pioneer emigrants to that state from Page county, Iowa. Mrs. MacLennan was a member of Multnomah chapter, D. A. R., and of St. Stephen’s cathedral. Surviving are the widower, Ewen MacLennan of Portland; a son, Percy D. Morgan of Aberdeen, Wash.; a daughter, Miss Irene E. Morgan of Portland; grandchildren, Barbara and Rosemary Morgan of Aberdeen, Wash.; nephews Richard Jackson of Salem and Harry and L. G. Harman of Orting, Wash., and a niece, Miss Myrtle Scott of Nebraska. Services will be held at 2:30 P.M. Monday at the Holman & Son chapel, Southeast Hawthorne boulevard and Twenty-seventh avenue, Dean Ramsey officiating. Interment will be at Mount Scott cemetery.
