Marilyn Ashworth Day, 57, of DeRidder, Louisiana passed from this life on Sunday, October 16, 2011 in DeRidder. . Funeral services were Thursday, October 20, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Shady Grove United Pentecostal Church. Revs. Jeff Phillips, Donnis Ashworth, Ken Gibson & Ed Tilley officiated. Interment followed at Beauregard Cemetery in DeRidder, Louisiana. Marilyn was a native and lifelong resident of DeRidder and a graduate of DeRidder High School. Music was Marilyn's passion, she traveled all over the U.S. playing the piano and keyboard and singing gospel music with her husband and family. Together they recorded several gospel albums. Marilyn was an outstanding prayer warrior and a Christian example for all to follow. She was a devoted wife and mother and a genuine friend. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She is survived Husband of 34 years of DeRidder; Two Daughters of DeRidder; One Brother and wife of DeRidder; One Nephew and Niece of Tioga; Her Mother-In-Law of DeRidder; host of extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by Parents; Rev. Wilbern and Helen Ashworth; Sister and Brother-In-Law - Gwen & Thomas Harper
