He was known as Larry, Dad, Grandpa, or Uncle to everyone who knew him. He served his country in the Navy and was an E6 when he retired. He is considered a Post-WWII era veteran, but you can find his information in the U.S., World War II Draft Cards Young Men, 1940-1947. When he enlisted he stood 5'3 and weighed 110lbs. Based on the dates that he was enlisted, it is plausible that he served in both Korea and part of Vietnam. It's also plausible that he served on the USS Siera from 23 July 1948 until her last assignment was terminated in San Diego, San Diego, California on 8 April 1949. She sailed to her new homeport located in Norfolk, Virginia. V.F.W. is Veterans of Foreign Wars in which he was presented with two or three awards which are in his daughter's possession. Funeral services were held in the Sunset 2nd ward chapel. He died of heart failure and is buried in the Clinton City Cemetery. Plot A Block 07 Lot 05 Space E3. There is no grave marker.
