The Madison Star Mail October 13, 1921 Page 1 DEATH COMES TO MRS. OLIVER CUNNINGHAM Mrs. Oliver Cunningham, another of the pioneer mothers of fifty years ago, died at her home northwest of Madison Monday. The funeral was held from the Methodist Church Wednesday afternoon. Rev. Chamberlain officiating. Interment was made in Crown Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Cunningham came to Madison County in 1872 and with her husband settled on a homestead some miles west and north of the present town of Enola. Here she lived the remainder of her life, death coming to her on the place which had been her first Madison County home. Although she has been seriously ill during the past year her suffering has been marked with that patience which has been characteristic of her life. Mary E. Nangle was born May 4th, 1845 at Philadelphia, Penn., and at the time of her death she had reached the age of 76 years and 5 months. She was married in 1866 to Oliver Cunningham and to this union six children were born, five girls and one boy, all of whom survive her. They are Harry Cunningham, Mrs. Emma Tannehill, Mrs. Lottie Tannehill, Mrs. Maude Bryant and Mrs. Tillie Green who live in the neighborhood of their parents home, and Mrs. Eva Flower of Bayard, Nebraska. Twenty grandchildren and 15 great grand children also survive her.
