SPRINGTOWN -- Leonard M. Pennington, 83, passed away Friday, Feb. 14, 2003, in Springtown. Funeral: 10 a.m. Tuesday at Springtown Church of Christ. Burial: Springtown Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 Monday at the funeral home. Leonard Pennington was a resident of Springtown since 1968. He was a member of the Church of Christ. Leonard served in the 82nd airborne unit in World War II. He served in the Battle of the Bulge. He retired from the plumbers and pipe-fitters Local 146, in 1983. Leonard was preceded in death by his parents and 11 brothers and sisters. Survivors: Wife of 54 years, Jean Pennington; sons, Len Pennington and wife, Tanya, Lee Pennington and wife, Darlene and Chris Pennington and wife, Jennifer, all of Springtown; daughters, Pennie Hart and husband, Bruce, of Elephant Butte, N.M., Dinah Greene and husband, Kenneth of Saginaw and Linda Long of Springtown; 16 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
