She is survived by her children: daughters Pennie Hart and husband Bruce of Aztec, NM and Linda Long of Springtown; Sons Len Pennington and wife Robin of Springtown, Lee Pennington and wife Darlene of Springtown, and Chris Pennington and wife Jennifer of Poolville; fourteen grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren, and eleven great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-four years, Leonard Pennington; daughter Dinah Greene and husband K.D.; her parents, W. Most of her childhood and early adult life was spent on or around the “mill block” in McKinney with her parents, grand-parents, siblings, and extended family and friends. She and Leonard (married in 1948) moved to Springtown in 1968. While she worked when and where needed to help support the family – Bell Telephone as an operator or at the Texas Cotton Mill in McKinney in the 40’s; wrapping packages at Montgomery Ward during Christmastime in the 1950’s; later at Springtown ISD (70’s and 80’s) and the Springtown Church of Christ (1990’s) – her primary occupation was that of wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. She was known as a caretaker (nursing both of her parents, her husband, and her daughter through lengthy illnesses) and an outstanding cook – fried chicken was always a hit. She enjoyed caring for and bragging on her grand-children, telling stories about the good-old-days, letting everyone know how handsome Leonard was, and going to church.
