Services for Frances Sliva Kutra, 92, of Frydek were held May 30 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Frydek with the Rev. Bernard Snock officiating. Burial followed at St. Mary's Cemetery in Frydek. Kutra died May 28. She was born in Frydek, Texas, the daughter of Dominik and Victoria Zaruba Sliva. She was raised in Frydek and attended St. Mary's Catholic School in Frydek. Kutra was united in marriage with Willie Kutra Sr on Sept. 20, 1927, in Frydek. She was homemaker and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and Altar Society, and 50-year member of KJZT in Frydek. Kutra was preceded in death by her husband, parents, five sisters, Sister Marcellianus, Agnes Machala, Annie Svoboda, Louise Pyka and Gabriella Kutra; three brothers, Dominik, Karl and Louis D. Sliva; and a granddaughter, Lisa Gail Zapalac. Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Doris and Albert Sodolak, and Helen Zapalac, all of Frydek; two sons and daughters-in-law, Willie F. and Deloris Kutra, and Bennie and Vernell Kutra, all of Sealy; a sister, Lillie Buchala of Sealy; a brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Dorthy Sliva of Sealy; grandchildren, Bennie Jr., Steven, Craig, Deron and Kim Kutra, Brian Sodolak, Laura Bartholomaus, Terri Tomlinson, Eric and Adam Zapalac, and Sara Guthne; and 10 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Craig, Bennie Jr. and Deron Kutra, Brian Sodolak, and Eric and Adam Zapalac. Honorary pallbearers were her grandson Steven Kutra, and granddaughters, Laura Bartholomaus, Sara Guthrie, Kim Kutra and Tern Tomlinson. Knesek Family Funeral Chapels, Sealy, directors.
