Opal Lois Smith died 11 March 1987 at Midland Memorial Hospital. She was born 30 Nov 1913 in Waco, Tx. Reared in Coleman County, she had lived in Mountainair, New Mexico and Cortez, Colorado before moving to Midland, Tx. in 1951, and a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors: her husband Haden of Midland, three daughters, Peggy Culp of Scottsdale, Arizona; Wini Moore of Odessa; and Donna Hamilton of Midland; two sons, Tommy Smith of Athens, Tx. and Bobby Smith of Sheffield; one sister, Maude Kelley of Coleman; two brothers, Ross Dobbins and Leslie of Coleman, Tx; 17 grand children and 18 great granchildren.
