mother's Maiden Name: POWERS After Evelyn's father drowned in 1915, her mother could not adequately care for her and her brother. They were adopted by John Albert Peska (1876-1942) and his wife Elizabeth (Sobek) Peska (1885-1970). They were raised in Orion, Richland County, Wisconsin.
