LAMMERS, ALFRED F.—Alfred F. Lammers, son of Chris and Dora Lammers, was born in Franklin county, Neb., June 22, 1916. He passed away March 11, 1977, at the age of 60 years, nine months and 11 days in the Fillmore County hospital in Geneva. As a small boy he was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church at Upland. He was married to Arbelle Cole, December 19, 1955, at Hebron. He was born and raised on a farm near Upland and worked in Minden until he moved to Geneva in 1954. He was employed at Fillmore County Implement and Irrigation for the last 22 years. Al is survived by his wife, Arbelle; five brothers, Roy of Durant, Ia., Ralph of Cozad, William of Littleton, Col., Willis of Upland, Donald of Minden; three sisters, Bertha Fries, Mrs. Floyd (Anna) Bower and Julietta Lammers, all of Minden; nieces and nephews and a host of relatives and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters. Funeral services were held March 14, at 10:30 a.m. at the Farmer & Son funeral home in Geneva with Rev. Woodrow Wilson officiating. Miss Susan Najmon sang “The Old Rugged Cross” and “Going Down the Valley,” accompanied by Mrs. Norval Lomax. Pallbearers were Dan Waldron, Martin Burroughs, Royal Koozer, John Macrander, Richard Wilke and Don Rust. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery. The Nebraska Signal 24 March 1977 page 5.
