Transcribed from The El Campo News (a newspaper published in Wharton County, Texas), Front Page, dated Friday, the 6th of December of 1940 SERVICES ARE HELD FOR FRANK KACAL, SR. Funeral services for Frank Kacal, Sr., 83, who died Friday morning, were held at 9 a.m. Sunday from the home of Mr. and Mrs. Victor Jurasek, with Requiem High Mass in Taiton Catholic Church. Rev. V. A. Raska officiated. Burial was made in the Nada Catholic cemetery, with the Triska Funeral home in charge. Mr. Kacal was born in Czecho-slovakia. He came to Texas at the age of 27, settling in Austin county and coming to Wharton county in 1897 where he has lived since that time. He was married to Miss Albina Svoboda and to this union nine children were born, one of whom preceded him in death. His wife died in 1929. The survivors are four daughters, Mrs. Frank Bittner, Mrs. Ben Jurasek, Mrs. Victor Jurasek, Mrs. Annie Schneider all of El Campo; four sons, Willie, Joe, and Adolph of El Campo and Frank of Beasley. There are also 32 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were six grandsons, Henry Kacal, George Kacal, Clement Kacal, Willie Kacal, Bennie Jurasek and Alvin Jurasek. The deceased was a member of the St. Joseph's society of Nada.
