Steven R. Siebert, age 61, of Henderson, NE, died Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at Lincoln. He was born September 19, 1949 at York, NE to Raymond and Mable (Dick) Siebert. Steve was a lifelong farmer in the Henderson area. He was united in marriage to Margie Pfile on July 18, 1970 at Freeport, IL. Steve was a member of the Bethesda Mennonite Church in Henderson, the Board of Directors of Mainstay Communications, and the Perennial Public Power Board. He was formerly a board member of Henderson Healthcare Services and the Henderson Coop Board. Steve was a member of the Henderson Car Club where he enjoyed judging car shows as well as attending car races. He also was an avid golfer, enjoyed traveling and spending time with family, especially the grandchildren. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Margie of Henderson; son, Chad (Lisa) Siebert of Colorado Springs, CO; daughter, Tara (Brent) Swartzendruber of Henderson; two brothers, Don (Chery) Siebert of Henderson and Keith (Susanne) Siebert of Crawford, CO; sister JoAnn (Mike) Friesen of Henderson; and parents Raymond and Mable of Henderson. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Addie, Aidan, and Zaine Swartzendruber and Ellyson Siebert. Burial will be at 2:15 p.m., Saturday, September 3, 2011 at the Bethesda Cemetery, Henderson. Memorial services will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the Bethesda Mennonite Church. Visitation will begin at 7:00 p.m., Friday at Metz Mortuary in Henderson. The family will greet friends from 7-9 p.m. that evening. Memorials may be directed to Henderson Healthcare or Bethesda Mennonite Church.
