Bio

Orland "Orlie" Svoboda, 98 yrs., of North Bend, NE died Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at Alegent Health Memorial Hospital at Schuyler, NE. He was born April 18, 1913 at Morse Bluff, NE to John and Mary (Pabian)Svoboda. He grew up and lived in the Morse Bluff and North Bend area all his life, where he farmed. Orland married Gustie Fencl on March 17, 1931 at Schuyler, NE. Gustie died January 24, 1971. He later married Margaret Jonas and she died in 1999. He is survived by son, Donald "Cap" Svoboda of Fremont; 2 sisters, Marcella Pallat of North Bend and Delma Kirby of Las Vegas, NV; 8 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and 6 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 wives; son, Larry Svoboda and daughter, Donna Boston. Funeral service will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, Sept. 3rd at Moser Memorial Chapel at North Bend, NE. Father Donald Cleary will officiate. Visitation Friday 4 PM to 7 PM and Saturday from 9 AM to 10 AM at the funeral home. Vigil Service will be at 6:30 PM on Friday at the funeral home. Burial at Woodland Cemetery at North Bend, NE. Memorials may be given to the North Bend Senior Center, North Bend Rescue Squad or to the donor's choice.
