Bio

George Hajovsky, 93, of La Grange, Texas passed away on Tuesday, December 29th, 2009 at St Mark's Medical Center, in La Grange. Mr. Hajovsky was born in Holman, Texas on September 24, 1916 to the late Adolph and Antonia (Muzny) Hajovsky. Mr. Hajovsky was the owner of the Western Auto store in La Grange for many years and was a director on the Board of National Bank & Trust. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Grand Knight with the Knights of Columbus, charter member of Frisch Auf Valley Country Club, member of the Lion's Club and the American Legion. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was also an avid golfer. He is survived by his wife of 56 years Anna Mae (Horak) Hajovsky, three daughters Teresa von Rosenberg and husband Dan of La Grange, Texas; Nancy Winkler and husband Norbert of Kingsland, Texas; Gertrude Hilliard and husband Gary of Paris, Texas; a son Robert Hajovsky and wife Beverly of Fort Worth, Texas; a brother Ben Hajovsky and wife Louise of Brenham, Texas; two sisters Leona Kristek of Baytown, Texas; and Henrietta Neiser of Houston, Texas; son-in-law Jeff McClure of Baytown, Texas; 11 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife Gertrude Wieting Hajovsky; one daughter Dr. Alice McDade; eight brothers Edmund, Jim, Albert, Charlie, Frank, Joe, Adolph, and Bernard; and one sister Mary Ryza. Viewing will be held on Saturday, January 2nd from 9:30 - 11:30 A.M. at Koenig & Strickland Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited by Deacon Mike Meismer on Saturday, January 2nd at 1:00 P.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church just prior to the funeral mass at 2 P.M. with Rev. Fr.
