SHAWNEE, Okla. — Johnny Leon Laster, 52, died Friday, Aug. 5, 2011, in Oklahoma City. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Sharon Baptist Church with the Rev. Clint Dawkins officiating. Burial will be in Tecumseh Cemetery by Walker Funeral Service. Johnny was born July 22, 1959, in Borger, Texas. He was raised by Reba and Raymond Kelley. He graduated from Shawnee High School in 1977. His most recent employment was with Jordan Construction. He married Kelly King and they had two children, Aaron and Jamie. He was a member of Sharon Baptist Church. His enjoyments included golfing, fishing, watching movies, and was a big John Wayne fan. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include two children, John Aaron Laster and wife Tamara of Tecumseh and Jamie Elizabeth Dodd of Shawnee; four grandchildren, Kelsey Janelle Laster, Kacee Erin Laster, Nolan Toby Laster and Dyllan Rylley Dodd; six brothers and sisters, Louise Francis of Amarillo, Jerry Laster of Tecumseh, Ruby Redfield of Tecumseh, Cindy Kelley of Tecumseh, Velena Laster of Washington and Jimmy Kelley of Shawnee; two special pets, Cookie and Tilly; and several nieces, nephews, other family and friends The family suggests memorials be to Sharon Baptist Church Building Fund.
